Naturalists with Brushes (NWB) - Weekly Sessions
Come Journal With Us!
As students of nature, we always seek something new and unknown. Go exploring!
As you sketch, practice the art of really seeing.
Nurture your curiosity by asking questions
Get your nature experience onto paper by recording your exploration, observations, reactions and questions in your journal.
Prompt: select a sit spot. Journal what all 5 of your senses are picking up even if its different things. Be cautious about what you taste, be sure its safe!
Here is what's going on the week of 6/16/25 (and beyond)--
Hamilton Tuesday 6/17/25, 10:00-11:30 am. Let's meet at Rotary Park.
Missoula Tuesday 6/17/25, 5:30 pm.
We will meet at the Pavilion in Greenough Park.
Missoula Wednesday 6/18/25, 10:00 am. Susan Doores has invited us to explore a nature trail on her property near Frenchtown.
The address is 9101 Rollercoaster Rd. Pls be careful turning left ( if coming from Highway 10) into the driveway because there is no visibility of oncoming traffic at the point when you turn, due the hilly rollercoaster nature of the road. The gate is right there when you turn in and I will have it open. Drive down to the painted stop sign and proceed a little jog left onto the pavement and there is a short dirt track to the pit area. You will see my car there, and me. People can park where I do, or by the stop sign and take the short walk.It is very easy to see where to go.
There are 2 picnic tables and bunch of chairs stored there.
That area is quite flat terrain. If people want to walk the track, it is a .6 mile paved loop with a definite slope at the far end. There a portable toilet down a sloped path, or accessed from the pavement. If you want to explore the approx 10 acres, there is a variety of terrain.
There are 360 views, and it is just a pleasant place Susan would like people to know about. It is not shaded, so bring your hat and drinking water.
(I know the group chose Greenough for this day but this site was already on the calendar and I was out of town. Greenough next week! VB)
Seeley Lake. Saturday, 7/12/25,10:00 am
Meeting location to be determined.
Missoula Saturday 7/5/25, meet 9:15-11:00 am. See you at the Confluence State Park and see how nature is changing.
Spring has sprung! Look forward to seeing everyone.insights

GREETINGS!
So happy you are here. You have found a diverse group of very kind, supportive people who want to share the practice of nature journaling!
Every Sunday, opportunities and locations will be posted for the coming week. (look for the pine trees across the FB post).
When/Where Do We Meet?
We meet every Wed at 10:00 am MST in Missoula, every Tuesday at 10:00 am in Hamilton, the first Saturday morning of every month in Missoula and sometimes more often. You are encouraged to join us at one or more gatherings as your schedule allows. And it’s free!!
Also, keep checking this page for special events!
Do You Need to Bring Anything?
No skills or special materials required. Pen, paper and love of nature is all you really need. Ok, I confess, sometimes some of us like to buy fancy pens BUT they are not necessary.
Please feel free to contact us with questions. The only bad question is the one not asked. Just like the only bad journal entry is the one not made.
Please join us!
I'm so happy I've hooked up with this group. I feel like it's life changing for me, seriously. Starting with the people, everyone is so lovely, kind and generous. And sitting with Barb's mellow background jazz. It transforms me every week, completely removes me from thoughts outside of that room. I think that's what mediation is supposed to do. Highly refreshing.
